This past weekend brought a storm system that affected states across the country’s midsection from Texas up to Iowa, and also brought with it the threat of more to come this week. The hardest hit was Oklahoma when a tornado touched down in Shawnee, OK., ripping apart the community, killing 2 people and injuring more than 30 residents according to the state’s emergency management director, Albert Ashford.

In Wichita, Kan., a tornado touched down around 4 p.m., knocking out power to thousands of homes and businesses. The Wichita tornado was an EF1, with winds of 110 mph and golf ball sized hail, according to the weather service.

The National Weather Service is predicting more tornadoes and hail for Oklahoma and Missouri, Arkansas and Kansas are also on watch for bad weather.

CRS is tracking the tornadoes that are in the surrounding area to better serve you and your displaced policyholders with emergency hotel and housing services. We hope you and your loved ones are safe.
